Tre’ Mutava’s story is one of grit and conviction that started at a very young age. He was born in Kennesaw County in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in foster care, and now, he lives in Kansas where he produces and writes his own music. For Tre’, music has always been his escape, and songwriting has been the best way for him to release his emotions; there’s always a song for his every emotion and he wants to share it with the world.

When Tre’ came uponNFM’s Anthem Theme Song Contest, he decided that it was another way for him to reach out to people through his music. At 18, he is one of the top five finalists in the contest and he wishes to continue sharing his love and passion for music as he pursues a career in the industry.

In this episode of I Am Home, Tyler Wisecup, Becca Sudbeck, and Hilary Woltemath talk to Tre’ Mutava about his music and how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected his craft so far. Tre’ also talks about his love for creating songs, the inspiration behind the song he wrote for the contest, how music has helped him through his struggles in life, and how being part of the contest has cemented his desire to create and share more of his own music to the world. Stay tuned.
